The Department of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University Hospital Clínic from Barcelona, is a reference center for high risk pregnancy and fetal medicine and surgery.

The Department offers a full clinical programme for the attention of the mother and fetus, spanning from normal pregnancy and delivery to the highest complexity in fetal medicine, including one of the few stable clinical programmes on fetal surgery in Europe.

The Department has a modern and innovative structure around thematic units on the main health problems of the mother and fetus, which are directed by subspecialists in maternal and fetal problems.

The Department has a long standing tradition in teaching and research. A wide offer in education activities is available in the form of continuing education courses and training stays at different levels of education, from residency or specialist short-stays to a full fellowship programme in maternal-fetal medicine.

Finally, the Department houses a large multidisciplinary research group with the highest impact factor production in Spain and one of the highest in Europe in the field of Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
