 European comission  Marie Curie Early Stage Research positions in Fetal Medicine Research
 
Marie Curie Project: A multidisciplinary training research programme around the field of Fetal Medicine. Euro-Fet-Med Institute, formed by three European Fetal Medicine Research Centers based in Hospital Clinic Barcelona, Spain, Katholieke Universiteit  Leuven, Belgium and Kings College University, London, U.K.


The aim of this EU funded program is to offer a multidisciplinary training research fellowship in Fetal Medicine oriented to clinical as well as basic researchers, involving several main lines of research with a number of sub-projects, including among others fetal therapy and surgery, fetal growth retardation and preeclampsia, monochorionic twin pregnancy, pulmonary hypoplasia, prenatal diagnosis of chromosomal abnormalities, fetal tissue banking and engineering, and early human development.

The program will provide the fellows with a comprehensive series of skills and technologies used in modern Fetal Medicine, ranging from clinical aspects to molecular biology and animal models.

We are seeking to appoint European Early Stage Researchers (ESR), for either 1-2 year short stays or 36 months PhD research fellowships. The program is open for specialists interested in fetal medicine, preferably but not exclusively obstetricians, with 2-3 years experience and good knowledge of English. Experience in research is requested to have a maximum of 4 years at enrolment. Work with animal models, molecular biology, telecommunications Enginery, related with signal and image processing could be considered desirable. Spanish is not mandatory but it is considered an advantage. 

The candidates will join one of the three Research Centers and will develop their personal research project within one of the ongoing research lines. Research can be either clinically oriented or in the field of basic science. The offer is no restricted to physicians.

Salary is to be fixed according to EU rules, on the basis of a basic salary and family situation, and includes specific support to mobility (as defined by the Marie Curie programme). According to the eligibility criteria of the programme, applicants must be nationals of an EU State other than the country of the host organisation, but the programme is not restricted to European citizens. The selection process will follow gender equality policies.
